As the last blog in my series of setting up healthy habits, I’d like to share thoughts from a blog post written by my friend and copywriting extraordinaire, Kate Merryweather (dotcomwords.com.au).
In her blog, Kate explains the concept behind Hal Elrod’s “The Morning Miracle”
Hal describes the ideal morning routine, where you complete the S.A.V.E.R.S:
- Silence (meditation)
- Affirmations
- Visualisation
- Exercise
- Reading
- Scribing
Kate goes on to explain she gets up at 5am and follows the above S.A.V.E.R.S to help combat anxiety attacks she was suffering as a Mum with 3 young girls and a busy freelancing career as a website copywriter. Thankfully, Kate has had great success with the concepts behind the Morning Miracle. Read more details in her blog here.
Personally, I believe there are 4 main benefits for getting up early:
- More sleep – early to rise, early to bed
- More time – give yourself more time in the morning so you’re not rushing around
- More quiet time – get up before everyone else in your busy household so you can enjoy time to yourself
- More activity – morning presents less calendar clashes – get up and go on that run!
I too have an early start to my day, with the alarm going off at 5.40, run or walk to our local shops to buy bread for lunches and home to enjoy my breakfast before the kids get up and start asking for “stuff”. I love my early mornings!
Do you have a similar reason you get out of bed early in the morning that you would like to share with us? Or if you need a hand to get up earlier each day check out my Time Management Services or Contact me today for a chat about how small changes to the time you get up in the morning can make a big difference to your day.
NOTE: Along with being my friend, Kate wrote the copy for my website and is my co-founder of the Greater Ashburton Businesses Facebook group – have a look if you are a business owner in Ashburton (Victoria).
