Worked with a new client recently to sort and file paperwork. We spent a good couple of hours clearing her dining room table sorting the paperwork into categories and into chronological order. We then filed the older paperwork in an archive box with drop files and kept the last three months of correspondence handy in a separate file. When we finished we took a bundle of recycling out to her shed. I noticed that was a bit of a hazardous path to the shed due to a number of empty cardboard boxes in the way. I said would you like some help to dispose of these while we’re here. She said "sure, no problem".
So we went about squishing the cardboard boxes and getting them ready to be recycled. As we were doing this she said “oh it’s so good to have an extra set of hands”. What I thought was a little thing to help her out (and remove a tripping hazard) turned out to be the biggest and most valuable part of my work with her - yay! If you need an extra set of hands at home to sort your paperwork out or to make home simpler I’d love to hear from you via direct message. ...

At Melbourne Storm, each team member is told to know their role and execute their role. And off Melbourne Storm’s success over the years, I think it’s a practice that has served the club well. ...
